Went up to Blue Lake last week on my way to pick up my daughter from Canberra who was keeping her cousin company after an operation.
The day before was incredibly windy deteriorating into white-out conditions with my eventual arrival at the lake coming somewhat by surprise. My campsite was a bit on the exposed side too so I didn’t sleep as well as I would have liked but when you wake to a blue sky dawn in such a beautiful place the hardships melt away and life is truly wonderful.
Immediately after taking this shot I tried an alternative version at f/22 to see if/ how this would effect the starburst effect. However in the few intervening seconds the wind came up wrecking the reflection and the moment was gone.
