Took this last night at The Balconies, Grampians – Gariwerd National Park, Victoria Australia. The weird halo/ rainbow effect is not something I’ve come across before but seems to be a characteristic inherent in my very expensive, heavy and complicated (23 elements in 18 groups) Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM lens. Not an ideal lens characteristic but I like it artistically anyway, Pink Floyd would be proud.
Would be interested if anyone else has encountered this phenomena on this lens or any other lens. Noticed the mkII version of the lens has just come out I wonder if this issue has been resolved.
