Fern Frond
I took this picture in my front yard to finish off a film and to my great surprise I loved the result. It is of a Soft tree fern, Dicksonia antarctica. It won a second place in a local photography competition run by Harvey Norman.

Stunning detail – isn’t it sickening that our ‘throw away’ shots often turn out better than ones we agonise over!!! Well done

oh my…Travis….You have the best yard ever…lol…such gems you find….it’s just so beautiful….somehow my ferns don’t quite look like that..well done…Congrats on the award :)...well deserved !!!

These poor ferns copped a hiding last summer with those record temperatures, I’ve got three left, spent a fortune erecting a shade sail over one, after its neighbor died the previous summer. Even now they’re still not as verdant as they were when I took this, thanks again.
