Blue Bottle
The Bluebottle or Portuguese Man of War (Physalia physalis) is commonly thought to be a jellyfish but it is actually a siphonophore. The bluebottle has an inflatable sail which keeps it on the surface as it blown by the ocean winds and currents. Its tail is quite poisonous known even to kill. This specimen was found on the beach near Lake Barracoota in the Howe Wilderness Zone of Croajingolong National Park, Victoria, Australia.

fantastic capture Travis!! I wonder we you don’t often see more photos of blue-bottles, they are such a beautifully strange creature, except when they wrap around your leg..
