Hygrocybe miniata
Taken on my recent trip to Tassie, being autumn the fungi were out in force and I saw more different varieties than I’ve ever had the pleasure of observing before.

Fantastic composure Travis… What a wonderful find. Look forward to seeing more of your trip to Tassie…

Most of the rest were low light hand held point and shoot jobs taken on the fly on my last day walking around Lake St Clair so the quality ain’t so great compared to this one, ta.

Yes – there are lots of these in Tassie – a delightful shot Travis!

GeoGecko
Nice. Do you ever find luminescent ones? I am sure you’d have fun getting shots of them illuminating themselves!
Travis Easton replied
Saw some glowy blue ones but didn’t have time to stop and photograph them properly, due to the fact my torch died and I wanted to mimimise my torchless night time walking.

Hi Trav – gorgeous capture of these lovely red caps. I have seen more varieties this year also of fungi – so unusual (I probably had my eyes open to them more now than ever before though)
Travis Easton replied
Me too photographed a whole heap on one of the old logging tram ways near Poweltown too weeks ago too. I love how each season delivers its own little treasures. Summer sunsets, autumn colour and mushrooms, winter snows and spring rains for waterfalls.

Hi Travis,
What a great photo beaut colour I have taken a few shots of these just south of Port Macquarie at Swans Crossing, I suppose you would have ran into a few leechs in your travel.
Cheers Rod.
