Nice photo Travis and generous of you to share the technical stuff. Whilst I really like this, for my part, the straightforward, as-is, photos of the places for which you so plainly love and are so passionate about are what I look forward to….(now I’ll get shot)

Travis Easton replied
Thanks so much for actually giving constructive feedback I really appreciate it. Haven’t actually done a print yet so I’ll probably print a few different versions before I do an enlargement and finalise the ‘detail’ then.
Travis Easton replied
Spent hours on this one and printed five different versions finally settling on one I’m happy with today of which I’m doing a big 20” x 30” enlargement to frame.
Robyn Bohlen
This whole series is awesome…well done…I’m really blown away at the beauty here. Thank you for sharing it in such a lovely way.
Travis Easton replied
Phillip Island is one of the biggest tourist Meccas near Melbourne and is the site of the first white settlement in what was to become Victoria. I tend to avoid tourist meccas like the plague but it really does have some astoundingly beautiful scenery. Thanks for the feedback Robyn
Andrew Stockwell
Great shot, and the next one, the fisheye or pano shot is very cool too. Adds scale in a seperate shot…which I think is something not seen very often. Kinda neat. Great color, great composition.

You must be jazzed by what you were able to capture that evening; what a magical place! Being from the other side of the world (Wyoming) I had to google the island to find out more; it does look like it’s pretty “visited”. Did you go on a kayak tour, and did you carry your camera and tripod in a drybag? Can you stay overnight on the island? I’d love to know more about this magic time of day on this gorgeous island. Were there tons of other photographers out at this time of night? Just in case I get down there some day! AMR
Travis Easton replied
Hi AMR,
Phillip Island has a bridge to it and is the quintessential tourist mecca. The Fairy Penguin parade is probably the most popular ‘nature’ tourist attraction in the state and a large part of it is urbanized. Haven’t sea kayaked at Phillip Island yet as there isn’t really any ‘natural’ places to camp. The Pinnacles are photographed a lot but there was no one else around the night we went out. This spot is obviously very loverly but it is not an accurate representation of the island as a whole it is never the less an amazing place to visit., Cheers
