First Creek
The remote and beautiful First Creek, Errinundra Plateau, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. I got up at 5:30am drove almost 200km much of it over mountain roads, found that the road to the start of the walk was closed so walked 6km to get to the start then walked another 3km through thick bush to get to the top of the falls where the fun really began. On the entire walk in, the sun was blazing and the few shots I took were terrible the contrast being too great to record properly but just as I reached the falls a very thick cloud layer descended offering me as good a lighting condition as is possible for this kind of photography. Below the main falls the country becomes quite steep and I climbed in and out of it until 6:00pm before walking back. I reached the track in last light then walked the 6km back before returning home getting to bed at 1:30am. A tiring but extremely satisfying day.

Travis Easton replied
The main drop is here this is just a small cascade below the second drop in the gorge. I made it to the third drop before it got to late to continue.

This is really beautiful Trav, looks like you are having fun with the new camera!
Travis Easton replied
I’m totally loving the white balance of digital on these sorts of shot. With Velvia these long waterfall shots used to get a really blue colour caste on them. Not liking the colour renditions on sunsets as much though so I might still do a few things on Velvia.
Cheryl Lunde
Beautiful Shot!
Rosemaree
Beautiful Travis… I wanna go there… Even the walk wouldnt deter me… Dont know what my back would think of such exercise thou…lol
Travis Easton replied
Have you done much off track walking before Rosemaree? A lot of under and over logs and extremely steep and slippery around and in the gorge bellow the falls, but such an amazing site, not very back friendly stuff though. Gives you a real sense of priveledged to visit such places, thanks for the comment mate.
Di Jenkins
love the detail in the water flow over the rocks and glorious greens! Masterful shot travis!
Rosemaree
Yes have done quite a bit of hiking off track Trav but with my back injury at the moment I would be a risk…lol… sometimes I can go days and do all sorts of stuff that I shouldnt and be fine then the next day I can stand on a timy pebble and be out of action for three days… It makes it difficult for tromping with backpak and cameras…
Geoff Coleman...
OMG what a beauty this is – worth every km and more to get this Travis. I love the way the fanning water echoes the shape of the ferns. Stunning.

I was going to sing you praises regarding this photo, then I read something about Canon 5D Mk 11.
Jealousy took over, so…
OK I will say what I initially thought -
I really like the way the water extends itself to greet you – nice work.
Travis Easton replied
haha, thanks for the jealousy and feedback
