Across Space

Welcome the night into your heart
and let the dew there gather close.
When everything new has fallen apart
and uncertainty is your host:
I will be the autumn breeze
That slips through the forest
to hold your hand as you
walk alone.

When truth rears up it’s ugly head
and crashes down in chaos and strife,
and sleepers lie in burning beds
caged like birds in dreams that bite:
I will be the cool morning
that awaits you to wake and wrap
yourself in light.

The visions gather thick and fast
and graft themselves on to our skin.
Hallucinations wildly cast close
some doors and open others.
So now:
I am the tear that brings in to being
a broken flash of
recognition.
