Hotel Nowhere by transmute

On a dark desert highway.

“Hotel” by Callum Morton

HDR composite of 3 raw images: -1, 0, +1 (tripod). Merged in PSCS3. Layers added: curves adjust, hue and saturation adjust, sharpening, median. I prefer an effect that lends solidity to the scene with a light touch of the hyper real.

I appreciate features and invites, but please do not post graphics or banners under my work when commenting, links are fine.

cool wind in my hair… warm smell of colitas rising up through the air… – geez, now i’m going to be singing along in my head all day :) great composition chris… random strange hotel… big highway… middle of nowhere… i like the feeling of vastness here – and the big red ‘hotel’ sign is so eerie. bell’s told me about this place and how strange it is… your shot captures it perfectly.

  • Thank you Holly. I gawk at this place everytime I drive past. It’s by an artist named Callum Morton, and it makes a rather interesting statement on the space.

strangely disturbing photo, that building doesn’t even look real. It barely look six feet deep! stunning photo!

  • Thanks mstrace, it’s intentionally scaled to be slightly out of proportion by the designer (see above)

This is great. I just got back from Iceland and it’s nice to see buildings again. Nature bores me in large doses.

  • Cheers Ed. I hope you ate some Puffin.

No, I saw some, but I only eat things that come in cans.
I didn’t talk much about the picture in that last comment, and mainly about myself, I do apologise. I’m sort of doing it again, but just rest assured I really do like this image very much. Probably for the same reasons you do so I won’t list them.

  • Dang, that is some mysterious chicken jelly.
