PIZZICATO: “A method of playing an instrument plucking the strings with the fingers rather then using the bow”.
A used my fingers rather then a brush to create this acrylic painting. A little ladybug takes a stroll along the bamboo stem.
Including the border, the painting measures 8-1/2” x 11” and is on heavy stock, cream colored paper.
The path of Zen leads to peace…
I am inspired by the elegance and simplicity of japanese ‘sumi-e’ and chinese ‘shui-mo hua’ paintings. This ‘one stroke style’ painting is from my ‘Beauty of Bamboo’ series. The bamboo is a magnificent gift from nature.
My paintings are created to relax the inner soul, bring peace and tranquility to the spiritual side of your nature.
“Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.”

I studied illustration and design at The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. I am married and the mother of two wonderful boys; one is in college and the other in High School. Since they are growing up, I have more time to myself which I enjoy channeling into my drawing and painting.
I am inspired by the elegance and simplicity of japanese ‘sumi-e’ and Chinese ‘shui-mo hua’ painting. I love the grace and beauty of bamboo.
