“Ladybug Bliss” sumi-e enso ink brush pen Chinese painting.
Circling the flexible state of being…
“Ladybug Bliss” is an original painting using a lavender and aqua blue ink brush pen. It measures 8-1/2” x 10-3/4” and painted on smooth, white paper with a thin deep blue border.
A little lady bug takes an afternoon Sunday stroll along the beautiful blue bamboo.
I am inspired by the elegance and simplicity of japanese ‘sumi-e’ and chinese ‘shui-mo hua’ paintings. This painting is from my ‘Beauty of Bamboo’ series.
A circle — known as “enso” in Japanese — universally implies completeness, all. A zen circle can also imply zero, sunyata, absolute, true reality, enlightenment, no beginning/no end in all phenomena, no symbol, the spread of Dharma as a turning wheel, harmony, and womb.
I try to set my scanner to be as close as possible to the original color of the art piece. There is a slight color variation between the digital and the scanned original art.
