"Crimson in the Mist" dry brush and India ink bamboo painting by Rebecca Rees

Small (16.4" x 21.5")

"Crimson in the Mist" dry brush and India ink bamboo painting by

i feel that this piece is one of my finest. It captures the true beauty of bamboo.

Original painting was painted with india ink, acrylics and dry brush pen on a heavy stock, 8-1/2″ × 11″ textured white paper.

I am inspired by the elegance and simplicity of japanese ‘sumi-e’ and chinese ‘shui-mo hua’ paintings.

“Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.”
- Bruce Lee -

I assume reproduction rights to all of my original art. Nothing may be used in any way, shape or form on merchandise or promotional items of any kind.

Thank you…

Rebecca Rees

I studied illustration and design at The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. I am married and the mother of two wonderful boys; one is a college graduate and the other is currently attending college. Since they are growing up, I have more time to myself which I enjoy channeling into my drawing and painting.

I am inspired by the elegance and simplicity of japanese ‘sumi-e’ and Chinese ‘shui-mo hua’ painting. I love the grace and beauty of bamboo.
