was fortunate enough to witness and photograph a miracle. This Clydesdale gave birth to twin fillies just 12 hours before this picture was taken. This is Molly with Bella. Unfortunately she has rejected the other foal, which is a very common thing with horses that give birth to twins. Little Winnie Belle is being bottle fed every four hours at the moment but her owners are hoping that mum will change her mind. I contacted the Clydesdale Horse Society to find out what the stats are on Clydesdales having twins and the kind gentleman there told me that he couldn’t give me any stats as such but the last pair of surviving twins that he was aware of were in the 1960’s. I have sent the pictures and the story through to the local paper The Illawarra Mercury hoping they will print it, as it is a real miracle. The good news for little Winnie is that a 26yo palomino called Creamy has become a bit of a surragate mother to her. And she has lots of carers of the 2 legged kind helping her out. They weighed about 20kg each (a single Clydesdale foal is about 60kg). I’ve probable put too many pics up but it was such a wonderful experience, i couldn’t help it.
