I have long admired the many wonderful images of the Cleveland Pier south of Brisbane on Redbubble and today I finally got to go there. But it is raining cats and dogs in Brissy today, and this is the best I could do. A blue filter is creating that sky…. believe me… the sky was solid grey. My friend held an umbrella over me as I took this 10 second exposure on the Nikon D90, 18-200mm lens, ND400 Filter. The weather was just heartbreaking. I live 4 hours away from this spot and who knows when I will get a chance to come back. Oh well……

It was both super exciting to finally be standing in this spot and soul crushingly disappointing not to have the weather I would have liked. But there is always a next time :)

Image didn’t turn out as I had hoped (due to the weather), but it was just a thrill to be standing in front of that jetty that I have admired for so long on Redbubble. My friend Linda, just couldn’t believe how excited I was over something so small and broken :)

This is lovely Tracie. Is this a current photo? The last time I was there, there were only 3-4 planks left so I am wondering if they have fixed up this gorgeous old girl a little????

Thanks Maxwell… I think I was just feeling the pressure and a little rushed due to the rain. Would have liked to have been able to take my time over it. But still just so STOKED to even have gotten to go there. You have been one of those who have SO inspired me to try this type of photography, and I guess I am comparing myself to your work, and I’m just not quite “there” yet.
