Yesterday I visited Ravensbourne National Park in Queensland, Australia, for the very first time. I had heard it was a good bird spotting place and so off I went, camera in hand, with high hopes of capturing something new.
On the hiking trail, deep in rainforest, there were lots of little birds close by, but lightening fast. I could hear many strange birds off in the distance, but couldn’t see them. Finally my patience paid off with this Eastern Yellow Robin. I think I might have seen them before briefly in the rain forests, but this is the first time I have been able to capture one. What a thrill to land a new species and especially exciting to catch them in the wild in their own habit.
