Open me, find a way in
Slash my heart, wrestle my fear
Slice at me and drain the poison
while I scream and thrash around
In a galaxy far, far away
I lay in a pool of blood
listening intently to a songbird calling out my name
directing my senses to another realm
I wondered to myself if this was just another nightmare
coated in sugar, laced with lies
I’m tempted to taste that bright red apple
and let the juice of life enter my soul
It took time on my behalf
to nurture the changes
survive the odds
Trusting no-one
guarded
blind
My nights now filled with an ambient peace
the days so far removed
From what was once a power play
of living by your rules
Karma is a beautiful thing
My only regret is
I will never have the pleasure
of witnessing your demise…........
Need your warmth
and all those conversations
we never did have
Want to call you time and again
but you’re not here……………..anymore
She see’s him untie the string
even hears the paper crackling as he lifts back the folds
slowly reaching in to finger the fabric
I often gaze into the sky
Wondering if you were ever really here
Or if you do not exist in my world to date
You might just show yourself
Like a mystical apparition
