I'm not afraid to sleep now........

Look down the ground below is crumbling
Look up the stars are all exploding
It’s the last day on earth
In my dreams
It’s the end of the world
And you’ve come back to me
In my dreams
Between the dust and the debris
There’s a light surrounding you and me
It’s the last day on earth
In my dreams
It’s the end of the world
And you’ve come back to me
In my dreams
And you hold me closer than I can ever remember being held.
I’m not afraid to sleep now, if we can stay like this until
It’s the last day on earth
In my dreams
It’s the end of the world
And you’ve come back to me
In my head I replay our conversations
Over and over til they feel like hallucinations
You know me? I love to lose my mind
And every time anybody speaks your name I still feel the same
I ache, I ache, I ache inside

oh dear. could this day get anymore fabulous. See my piece ‘my bat man’ .. my fathers anniversary today (24th Sept) of his passing .. ANYWAY, late this avo at the time of his accident i looked at the clock and it was exactly 2.45pm (THE time) and at that second this song came on the radio .. i’ve cried to this song before, it’s incredibly emotive and so well delivered, that kate is a genius. I wasn’t going to mention it to anyone, but as i opened this piece of art i knew it was going to be special .. and it is STUNNING .. and here is the song again though in print, 24 minutes later. Thank you x
PJ Ryan
ps, i had an incredible moment earlier today with another “sign” .. shortly after i wrote “my bat man” my 3 yr old daughter ran up to me with a picture she drew flapping it in the air saying “look mummy look .. look at the bat flying .. look at all the colours”. She knew nothing about my ‘bat’ words today. Hmmmm love the magic and you’ve added to it x
Tracey Mac replied
I read your beautiful tribute Nicole, and it made me cry, and your comment here blows me away…......
Truly is amazing how things just come together and follow one after the other, of course your dad would have had a lot to do with it, and now Kate’s song will always remind me of you!
I chose it for the line I’ve used as the title, something so deep that has shifted many things for me over the past few weeks, but particularly the last couple of days, so we’ll have to share the song between us now!!
Big hugs sweetie and thank you SO much for sharing your beautiful day with me!!

What I dig about your frame format Tracey, is that when I click on the large view, the pictue fits perfectly in the height of my browser page… and that makes it easy to stick a Word doc next to it so I can comment with full view of detail. Which is cool cause I can get lost in the depth of your texture and how your lighting turns out all those gorgeous nuances of the veil and what’s underneath while I type.
And another reason I dig this format is because it works so perfectly with your composition… the way the right angles and diagonals fit into your frame not only work to timeless rules of artistic aesthetic (draw an X from corner to corner and see how your angles roughly intersect, with your face lying perfectly in the crux)… but there’s more…
The way you’ve used your physical form to cradle your deeply sleeping face and convey the feeling of protection is enhanced by the negative space, and its proportions give me the feeling that though you are safe and protected, there is freedom of space around you. A tighter crop would have made it opressive. And though it’s subtle, the way your feet extend to the lower left corner so perfectly justifies your crop without making it seem off-center. Wow.
So what is it with you? Did you study with Rembrandt in a past life?? Even if you did, it wouldn’t explain how you’ve taken a lyric, put this amazing image next to it… and so make us FEEL every phrase and live its emotion. I dare anyone to pull up the large view and play this song in the background without shedding a tear. And as I know a bit of the story behind this beautiful image, you can believe for me it was a river.
Jeeze, I didn’t even mention the tones…soft, vulnerable early morning skin through the protective warmth of forest emerald at dawn. What’s not to love?
Think I might just fav this…
xox
Tracey Mac replied
You know, the way you write is so poetic, and like I keep telling you, you should really do something with that.
When I take these shots, it’s usually while dealing with feelings from within so I love it when you notice what it’s all about, and yes, you know the background, but you always ‘get’ the emotions that I’m attempting to throw out, as if you see it all in video format, and that’s what I love about your comment. The detail you relay back to me in both the feelings and the moment I’m trying to portray, is always spot on and always leaves me feeling like I got it right.
Thanks from my heart for your constant support and love
You already know how much it means.
