This is quite a radical and interesting departure from your usual “white” images. Your (resting) pose implies vulnerability, yet, if you are waiting, you believe there is hope. Hope is a very powerful motivater. I love this depature, Tracey, it’s wonderfully moody. Beautiful work, as always.

Tracey, if you’ll give me a minute I’ll do my best to tell you how this is a landmark picture…

I’ve told you many times that the evolution of your work is an example to every artist who desires to better themself. And I’ve always told you that I think the way you’ve created a unique style which separates your work from all the rest is amazing considering the relatively ambiguous nature of your first posts on RB. Also the quality of your skills has continued to improve to the point where you are actually the example by which others will follow.
All that stuff is still there and in the bank.

But I think it’s time you realize yourself the greatness of what you are doing. I look at this picture and though I recognize the style and think, OK Tracey’s Mac’in’ blown me away AGAIN… my perspective has shifted (and now I’m finally coming to my point), and I now see your stuff as the work of a master. I no longer put you in the perspective of someone who’s come along in leaps and bounds and is improving all the time and I’m wondering when it’s gonna peak… I now believe you have arrived at the summit. There are VERY few artists here (or anywhere else I know) who do this general style of art as well as you.

It’s in the way you use all the elements… lighting, composition, clothing, pose, framing, tones and finally processing technique to convey pure emotion. I don’t see this piece as so much of a pictue as I do an emotional statement. THIS is what art has been about since the beginning of time… conveying emotion through vision. And the stronger the emotion, the more powerful the art. Baby, your stuff is nuclear.

Now I’m wondering how you will raise your own bar even fruther… somehow I think yer gonna nail it!
