Shadows
The patterns will always occur – over and over – until you stop them
I watch from the shadows as she struggles with the news, her reaction bounces between euphoria to deep, deep anger, and back to joy and happiness again.
She is restless, the heat in the room causes her skin to glow, her exertions add to the glistening droplets of sweat on her body.
I want to go to her, to comfort her, to calm her anger, and yet I feel so helpless. I fear the hook has cut too deeply into this beautiful little fishy.

Beautifully done. You’ve painted quite an image in so few words. The last sentence is perfect.
