Fix You by tori yule

Created while trying to deal with my daughter’s pain after she was assaulted by a man she had recently started dating. Ten months and seventeen adjourned court dates later, he was released with time served. Two weeks later, he was arrested again for violating the order of protection .He was calling her more than 30 times a day, and stole her car and phone. He is now serving out the rest of his sentence in prison.

Very frightening. I’m not sure which one I like best.

  • Thank you for your thoughts on this. I took the other one down. I think it was too horrifying, but I just wanted to enlighten people about it. This is generic, I think. It really can mean anything. xx

What a beautiful Coldplay song. I loved listening while contemplating your artwork, Tori. Thank you. The work draws me in to her plight. It could be anything. The fact that she has blind folded herself tells me she is looking deep inside for the “problem”, and the answers.

  • I love that you see her “looking deep inside for the “problem”, and the answers.” Thank you, Frannie for your thoughtful comment.

Brilliant artistry – disturbing in its detail; leaving you both haunted and moved

  • So nice of you to comment, Maggie, and letting me know how you felt.

Hmmmm…intriguing Tori….who is you in the title…well done my friend

  • Hi Michel. “You” is my daughter. She was recently assaulted in a domestic abuse incident. She is such a beautiful person, and has always tried to help anyone that needed it. She was devastated by this assault, and not just the physical aspect, but the emotional betrayal as well. She is pressing charges which I see as a huge step in her growth that not everyone can be trusted. Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I appreciate you digging deeper.
