There are some whose hearts can only hold so much. I knew this about my mother since I was very young. I never confided in her, because she didn’t know how to deal with emotions. Her rules on what it means to be a family, are arduous, exacting, exhausting, and punishing. She could stop you in your tracks by just her look. She has recently ended our relationship, and her relationship with my children. Her reason is that she wants to live out her remaining days being happy, and my need for her is more than she is willing to deal with. I still need my mother, and her loss is devastating. This photograph of her holding my daughter, Chrissy, now 15, is beautiful, but so sad. Her relationships with her grandchildren has never been important to her. She has no idea on the love she is missing out on. My heart is filled to the brim with love, and there is an infinite amount of room left. My wish for her is to be able to fill her heart with love, too.
