The Great Cow Harbor 10-Kilometer Run, in Northport, New York, is held at the end of September every year. I have run in this race, and watched it, and last year I was lucky to have been on the press truck in front of the elite runners. These two shots were published in the Northport calendar for 2012, and 2013.
This race combines small-town ambience with national-class competition. Set in Northport Village, a pre-revolutionary ship-building center, the course offers a series of rolling green hills, a panoramic view of the Long Island Sound, and a down hill finish, as well as a “world-class” post race party.
