I am Dead Inside

Toradellin

Artist's Description

This work sums up the last several years and the way it’s left me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnkuBUAwfe0

The dying oak represents my mother in a continuation of the metaphor in my poem about her, “Whispered”: http://www.redbubble.com/people/toradellin/writ...

The invasive thorny vine shaped like an evil hand represents the evil people that made the last few years with my mother a living hell. Their venom, and the abandonment by people I thought were friends is the reason I no longer want to go on living past the lifespan of my girls, my cats.

The black dog of course symbolises depression. I depict myself as the black dog to express my now complete consumption by the disease that I’ve suffered since I was little. I will upload a poem with this same symbolism and place a link here: http://www.redbubble.com/people/toradellin/writ...
