This small section of the countryside road below the town of Rabat, Malta, leading to the very small hamlet of Fiddien (meaning in old Maltese a silvery place, or a sown field the measure of which is calculated on the area that can be ploughed by two cows in a day) is unique on the Island. Although other silver Birch trees do exist on the Island none are to be found lining a country road on both sides such as this one. Bare of the beautiful silvery spring leaves, the trees are still pleasant enough to present a spectacular scene against the winter clouded sky.

very nicely done Anthony, great sky
Thank you Simon. Tell you the truth I’m yearning for such skies. I’m really fed up with these clear summer skies.

What a beautiful image!!
Thank you Ellen. This would be another place for you to visit, when it’s not too hot that is.

LOL well Anthony you can come accross to the UK where the clouds are covering the skies and the humidity at present is in the 80%, cool wind but humid. Do a swop then
Late Spring and early Autumn would be fine for me but I’m afraid Winter would be a bit too cold for me over there, whereas over here it would be quite nice and cozy!

Its gorgeous Tony…looks and sounds like a wonderful place!! *-)
Hi Debs. It really IS a beautiful place especially in late Autumn, Winter and early Springtime. This place is in the North side of the Island where most of the island’s farming and agricultural land lies. Thank you for your visit and kind comment my friend.

very fine picture Tony…the light clouds set off the trees so well
Hello Betty. It was what I call a beautiful clouded sky that day. Xandru, Edwin and I really enjoyed ourselves that time. Thank you for your kind comment my friend.
