Just before going to Marsaxlokk I followed a dirt road leading to a place by the sea called ‘Il-Ħofriet’ (The Holes) in the limits if Dellimara to see the sunrise. On my way to turn the car to go to Marsaxlokk I noticed six Fox Terriers from a nearby farm, sniffing around some cut-up weeds lying on the ground. I stopped the car to have a better look and by their behaviour I could tell thet they were smelling a mouse hiding inside the weeds. After a few seconds a mouse emerged and ran like Speedy Gonzales to safety with three of the Fox Terriers running after him with no success in their chase as he quickly disappeared into a pile of rubble. The other three stayed by the bunch of weeds determined to catch any remaining mice, but none were left. Just the scent of the one that got away!
