“Thirty pieces of Silver will solve a lot of my problems. Worth more than Him really. He projected Himself as a leader but would not have anything to do with organizing an army against the Romans. He diappointed me and let me down! I invested and lost a lot of valuable time with Him – forever preaching of righteousness and never a word against this cursed Roman rule. The fake! The coward! I’ll get even. But how can I identify Him to Caiapha’s men? If I walk up to Him and point Him out, I’m sure Simon will pull out his sword against me….I know how short tempered he is at times and will do anything to defend Him – like a dog defends his master!.
Yes I know what to do! At the Garden of the Gethsemane, where He said He’ll pass the night after supper here, I shall walk ahead of the High Priest’s soldiers and kiss Him on the cheek. When they see me embracing Him the soldiers will know it’s Him and his followers will think that the kiss is in reparation for leaving the passover supper.’
With this sly plan in mind Judas left the house where Jesus was still celebrating Passover with the rest of the Disciples, and went straight to the High Priest to tell him of his plan.
