Driving along the quayside in Marsa, Malta, just past Bezzina’s Ship Repair Yard, I happened to spot this old Lifeboat by the side od the road. What drew me to it was not the actual boat itself but the spots of sunlight on the boat and on the rocks above it. The Caper bushes growing from crevises in the rock and hanging down added some colourful features to the scene, as did the fennel stalks pointing upwards towards the sky. On top of the boat, jutting out from the rock-face is a small niche housing a statue of the Blessed Virgin with Baby Jesus in her arms. A probable votive offering from a sailor or crew who found safety in the harbour from a violent storm or during the War.

This is really beautiful Tony, very well done!!
Thank you Marvin my friend. This happens to be my second HDR image in Redbubble. Glad you like it and appreciate your visit and very positive comment.
Got some good lighting on this one, Tony. And your HDR is getting better and better.
Wonderful image.
Thank you Alex. This shot was taken Saturday (4th October) morning just after that heavy rain shower. I guess that from the description I wrote, you know where the place is. The Sun then was playing hide and seek with me but as they say, patience prevails and I managed to get some sunlight in my picture.

wow, fantastic tony – worth the wait
Thank you Francesca…I guess you too know the place. Quite a few things to snap away at over there. I like the place myself and it’s not the first time I side-tracked my drive home by paying a short visit to the place searching for some opportunities like this one, especially on Saturday mornings.
