Valletta, the Capital City of Malta. The time was just a few minutes after six on a quiet Sunday morning. Most of the residents are still fast asleep. Some of them could have gone to the wine tasting activity held at the Upper Barrakka Gardens last night, a short five minutes’ walk uphill. Others could be just catching up on some sleep after a hot restless night. Most of the balconies’ windows are still open to let in some cool fresh air for the night. The first rays of the Sun seem to hand-pick just three balconies to herald another new long hot day, and to offer its warmth to dry the washing already on the line so early in the morning.

Thank you Astrid. I find that early rising pays. In the very early hours of the day, nature is often at its best, I suggest you try it.

I really like your presentation of light. You always know just when to catch it!

  • Thank you rasni…..light is one of the most important factors of photography. Knowing what to look for and being there at the right time helps a lot too.

It is nice that there is somewhere you can leave your windows open to let in the cool breeze.
    Very nicely done…

Look at that light! It looks like a movie set. Perfect.

  • Thank you Shelly. What we take for granted every day turns out to be a thing of beauty if looked at closely enough from another angle.
