Yea really excited… The old Cannon 9000 printer died when i tried fitting a continual ink system. ( beware) My old college has ripped them all out as well!!!!.. That was a year and a half ago !!!!
As im almost entirely medium format, A3 / A2 is the ideal print size as i shoot many of my pictures for wall art…. But its really down to ink… The cartridges are 110 ml with the option to fit 220ml, at a cost of 299 pounds a set for the 110ml. this equates to about 1000 pounds in the A4 / A3 cartridges printers…..
Note the cheaper 3800 uses 60ml ink cartridges, which are about the same price as the 110ml so running casts are a lot higher… Also the build of the machines are not to the same spec… Plastic parts where the 4800 uses more metal and is built more like a tank.
Also the 4880 upwards are calibrated individually in the factory, while the semi pro A3 have a generic profile…
So I’m a happy Bunny…. Ive made the right choice.. Its a lot of money, the most ive spent, Most of my cameras, cost me well under thirty pounds…. Al tough my Bronica with 45 and 65 lenses cost me 700 pounds, with an extra 100 pounds for a 150mm lens for my mamiya 645… amazingly cheap.. ( i need to buy a new body approx 125 pounds…)
Also it fits in with the power overhead available to me that is 250 Watts… Space wise it does not fit quite so well in molly…
sorry i waffle !!!!!
