After the rains, water is splashing into this hidden pool alongside the track to Montezuma Falls, which begins at Williamsford, two kilometres south of Rosebery, Tasmania. This easy, three-hour return walk along a level track takes you right to the base of the 104 metre Falls through pleasant park-like rainforest including leatherwood, myrtle, sassafras and giant tree ferns.

The track follows the historic route of the former North East Dundas Tramway right to the base of Montezuma Falls.

This shot was taken with my Pentax k-r on 29 April 2012.

    Excellent exposure &composition Tony.

  • Thanks for your fave and comment Julie. I put this up to replace another shot of the same pool. I since realised that this one was better as I had overexposed the old one overcompensating for the shadows.

What a beautiful scene Tony – Love it xx

  • Glad you like it Gail and thanks for your fave and comment. Had one foot on a log, one in the water and the tripod in the water too but it was worth it.
