The little seabird is flapping furiously and calling out to attract the attention of the two penguins to no avail as they remain silent statues.

Sculpture of penguins by Stephen Walker, companion piece to the seals on an adjacent rock and the self portrait of Louis and Joe, the BernacchiTribute on the Hobart waterfront at Sullivans Cove.
Louis Bernacchi was a a member of Borchgrevink`s 1898-1900 Southern Cross expedition. He became the first Australian (and Tasmanian) to work and winter in Antarctica.
The expedition vessel “Southern Cross” departed from this point.
