I’ve been painting on and off since I was a teenager. I was encouraged to paint by my Art teacher at Falmouth Grammar school – A.Wallace Martin, graduate of the Slade School. Since school days I have been self-taught. My formal education has been with University College of the Southwest (St. Luke’s College), Kings College and Dept of Education London University and the Open University. I was born and grew up in Falmouth, Cornwall, and many of my painting subjects are scenes of Cornwall. I paint mainly in watercolour, but sometimes in pastel and acrylic. I have exhibited, usually with other artists, in a number of galleries in Somerset including The Malthouse Gallery, East Lambrook. I have lived in Somerset for over 40 years, but often return to my roots in Cornwall.
