United airlines DC-3 makes ready for flight. The DC-3 was built in the 1930’s and is still flying today. Updates to avionics and engines have been made, but the basic airframe has been left alone. Just goes to show that it is truly hard to improve on a perfect design that meets so many requirements or fills so many demands. Cheers to Mr. Douglas!

Trenton, you are the MAN! What a superb rendition. Just great, outstanding (and I can think of many more adverbs) Kudus to you. I’m sure you’ll do well with that image on RB. I’ll be pointing this image to all my contacts, especially the DC-3 groups. Naturally, I require this image for le Cirque Volant.

  • Thanks Paul, I believe it was you that asked me to do this, so kudos right back to you.

You do excellent aircraft work….by all means, this is my fav…

  • Thanks Reed! This came about because of Mr. Lindenberg (just above you) he had this picture (only small) in his online magazine and wanted me to draw it. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun too. Thanks again for the wonderful comments! : )

  • Thanks Scott, I think you would enjoy the photograph that I drew this from. Shot in the late 40’s it is most impressive by todays standards, my only concern was that I did it justice.
