'Train Journey'

‘Train Journey’

She was just a wee One, didn’t have a ticket
Curious fear evident, She approached wicket
Nonchalant ticket vendor asked ‘Destination Miss?’
Furtive eyes wander, alone Her escape desired bliss

She asked: ‘Do trains go someplace that have many smiles?’
Glum answered: ‘Trains go every where, millions of miles.’
‘Will I have adventures? Will I be safe from all harm?’
‘Crisake Miss, here to sell tickets, do I look like a charm?’

It would be nice to have a family, nurtured womb love
Perhaps something to eat on this journey spoke of
‘Crisake Miss, are you some kind o’ idiot, or what?’
‘Trains go everyplace, at destinations sought!’

She almost cried, almost, ticket keeper turn away
Defiantly, She stood there, something more to say
‘There are mountains to be seen, prairies to cross.’
‘Languages discover with rhythms ocean wave toss!’

Whistle heard in distance, haunting inviting call
Welcome intrusion well, wee One invited stood tall
‘My journey will be well, aboard THIS train arrive!’
‘Discoveries new cherished because I am alive!’

Ground shook with approach trains new thought
Easing into station, stunned without ticket ‘bought’
Silver shining streamlined to a halt in time glide
Smiling Conductor invited Wee One ’board to ride

Blackest suit with buttons shined bold brass
Hat worn tilted with learned rebel class
Aboard the train with no purchased ticket
Conductor told that ‘wing nut’ to just ‘stick it.’

All Aboard!
