Palmerston Local

Stratford Ontario, with the morning local preparing departure for Palmerston Ontario, with baggage express, railway post office car, and a coach to hang the markers on. The ‘letters’ on the locomotive cab are actually Her number: 5110.

Known as a ‘mixed’ train, her consist would often include freight cars as well. The era of this drawing is the late fifties, just before mass diesiliztion on the CNR. The Palmerston line is all torn up, now.

A pencil drawing by Thomas M. Ward.
