I am Tom Reynen, an amateur digital photographer living in Shoreview, a suburb of St Paul, Minnesota in the US. I also have a second home in Vancouver, BC Canada. My work has been exhibited in a number of local galleries and shows and published in the Minneapolis StarTribune newspaper. I have won several local and two national contests with my photographs. My specialties are nature photos, particularly close-ups of flowers, landscapes, architectural details and travel scenes. I have thousands of photos in my portfolio and take commissions. I love bright colors but also enjoy working in black and white. I am on the board of a non-profits arts organization called Gallery 96 which highlights art in a variety of media by artists in the northern St Paul MN suburbs.
I recently joined with a small group of artists to open a gallery at 1023 Washington Ave South in downtown Minneapolis, MN. Mill District Arts Gallery showcases a collection of emerging and mid-career artists who are creating locally. We offer the general public and serious collectors the chance to purchase fine artwork at affordable prices. Because we are an artist run gallery, at least one of us will always be there for discussion. Our intention is to give viewers the chance to have a more personal and enriched art experience. We function based on the desire that we all deserve to have a little beauty in our lives.
We have galleries on two floors of a wonderful old historic building and I will be displaying my photographs along with paintings, pottery, prints, found object art, furniture and one of kind clothing and gift items. Here you can spend time with each piece, whether it be contemporary, traditional, functional or purely aesthetic. In addition to our permanent artists, each month we will feature different guest artists.
