Platitudes of Honor and Aspirations

FATHERS DAY
Tis a day, we honor our fathers
A day that a son and daughter gathers
To commemorate the sacred institution of family
God has inaugurated it from the beginning
A man to be the “head” of the women in loving familiarity
To imitate Christ’s headship of the man in leading similarity
To nurtue his wife as the Lord cherishes His church
He doesen’t “rail” with any pretensions amd accusations;
nor make her feel as a burdensome beast.
Within her heart, he seeks no cause to make a fearome lurch
He cherishes her as his own “flesh”; more and never the least
She has no fear that with words or deeds, he seeks her harm or hurt.
He is so to “play critic; never in animosity to wife and child
For when he cherishes and seeks her best;
Safe and content, be the sons and daughters.
They know they have a “dad” that seeks to please our God and Father
Then we can rejoice evermore- the Father in Heaven discipled him
To be as the One, our Heavenly Father, blessed evermore!
