To Do this “job” complete.

On a hot and dusty street
in a small Nazareth shop,
a boy of eight years
stops to wipe
the sweat off his brow.
….. Just below, at his feet,
a small pup stands on his hind legs,
whimpers and bids his desire
to do this “job” complete.
The Nazarene lad smiles
and rests his hammer and chisel
upon the work table
stoops to where the pup
can do the chore quite replete.
The pup is beside himself with joy elite
With the lap of the lad as his seat,
He licks the lad’s face dry
but adds his adoration’s wetness.
Doe this very pup know
That he has “kissed “ the face of the Logos?
Does he feel the embrace of his creator?

….Yes……somehow…in some unknown manner,
This pup knows what those who walk on two legs
Fail to realize in twice …nigh three times his lifespan
The Lamb of God walks among them…
The Shepherd of Israel’s flock
He kissed a boy’s face but worshipped in his own way.
The very Lion of Judah, the lamb led to slaughter.

To Do this “job” complete.
