Revelin Tower (Veliki Revelin), built 1493-1496, is the south side entrance gate to the historic fortified walled city of Korčula on the lovely Croatian Island of Korčula. There was once a drawbridge where the staircase (built in 1863) now stands.
Korčula is the sixth largest Croatian Island. Korčula Town, a miniature Dubrovnik, is a Medieval grid of streets and limestone buildings.
Korčula is the alleged birthplace of the famed explorer Marco Polo.
