An Historic Scotland Category C(S) Listed Building

St Abbs Church on the B6438 as you enter the Fishing Village of St Abbs in the south east coast of Scotland, in the Berwickshire area of the Scottish Borders. Originally built as St Abbs Free Church, the building is now administered by The Church of Scotland.

This symmetrical plain Norman style church was opened in 1892 and renovated in 1947.

St Abbs was originally known as Coldingham Shore, the name was changed in the 1890’s to St Abbs. The new name was derived from St Abb’s Head, a rocky promontory located to the north of the village, itself named after St Aebbe.
