I love that there are so many of these old buildings being retained for historical purposes, but shudder to think how expensive they must be to maintain…. Thanks again for the amazing history lesson!

  • Thank you so much Mel …

This building even popped up in a Rebus Episode.
They found the body of a man on the seat close to the roundabout, cant remember the name of the episode right now but if I do remember I’ll let yah know :o)

This is a fine-looking building, well caught on that blue day; glad to hear that it’s been saved & is being put to good use. I’m always intrigued by these elaborate industrial buildings, so different from what is built today. The Colonel Ward Pump Station up the road from us in Buffalo is another example, albeit not as old, of this type of architecture, & is a Niagara River landmark. The old steam pumps are still in place, though electrics have been used for years. Tours of the still-operating station can be arranged, & Ray has been through it once.

  • Thank you so much Sheila, your pumping station looks huge …
