Michelangelo’s David in the Piazza della Signoria, Florence, Italy.

Sadly, not the original, it is in the Academy Gallery, in a specially designed room where it can still be seen today.

Fantastic shot, one of my all time favourites this. Nice perspective with the houses behind.

Agree with hilerydougill. He looks extra naked, without the colour of the houses. Good one!

The guy in the window adds a wee bit fun. Both he and David could be looking at the same thing.

So Joak takes his slingshot into the shower with him. Maybe he thinks that’s a towel. This is a SPECTACULAR shot; a side of David we rarely see, & in the natural bright light, an anatomical masterpiece. Just a copy… well, that’ll do. Musculature, tendons, oh, man. And then there’s the onlooker. Perfect addition to a great sidelong. Magnificent.

  • Hehe, it is a wonderful sculpture, even if it is a copy. A must see for anyone who visits this great city …
