This attractive little 18th century terraced cottage beautifully restored in black and white was once the Old Post Office at number 4 Goldscaur Row, Wanlockhead.
Next to it, the two story cottage is for sale (or it was when I took this shot in June 2009). A project we would say as it clearly needs some TLC.
High in the Lowther Hills to the west of the M74 in Dumfries and Galloway, Wanlockhead is Scotland’s highest village at 467m (1531 ft). It owes its existence to the lead, gold and other minerals found under the surrounding countryside.
