The Royal Scots Greys Statue (soldier on horseback) is beside Princes Street in West Princes Street Gardens, opposite the junction with Frederick Street in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Behind the statue at the top of Castlehill is the complex of apartments called Ramsay Garden.
On the left, towering over the buildings, you can just see the tall black Gothic spire of the former Tolbooth Highland St John’s Church, now called The Hub – the highest point in central Edinburgh, now the home of the Edinburgh International Festival, and a central source of information on all the Edinburgh Festivals.
The Hub is an Historic Scotland Category A Listed Building (HB Number 27542).
