This cartouche, which originally came from one of the baxters’ (Baker’s) buildings in Dean Village, is incorporated into the wall of Deanbrae House at the south end of Dean Bridge in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The inscription on the cartouche reads:
In the Sweat of thy face shalt thou Eat Bread
Gen 3 Verse 19
Anno Dom 1619

Deanbrae House has at various times been called, House Of Coll or Kirkbrae House.

Deanbrae House is an Historic Scotland Category B Listed Building (HB Number 29598).

The Old and New Towns of Edinburgh are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
