One of the most important religious sites in the world is this little stone building close to the ancient city of Ephesus (Ancient Greek Ἔφεσος, Turkish Efes), an ancient Greek city on the west coast of Anatolia, near present-day Selçuk, Izmir Province, Turkey. It is said to be the home of the Virgin Mary. This is where she was brought by the Apostle John after the crucifixion of Christ.

After Mary’s death at age 64 the house was turned into a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

This place of pilgrimage is visited by thousands of tourists every year, and maintains its holiness for the Moslem as well as for the Christian world.

Yes I know. You can even see ferries that run over little trawlers. What a damn shame for that lad and his family Tom. I just dont understand how that could have happened given the sophistication of the ferry. I think someone wasnt doing his/her job properly.

  • It is terrible Nick, that poor young lad, his family must be devastated …

I also couldnt believe what I heard about that woman in Edinburgh. What the hell is going on Tom? I gave up watching the news a long time ago but I caught it tonight. Now I know why I gave it up. Those poor little kids. I KNOW that I would serve LIFE if anyone ever touched any of my little ones. Sometimes I wonder what I have done by bringing them into the world mate. Sorry not usual for me to be doom and gloom but the 2 stories have shocked the hell outta me.

  • This is terrible, it is beginning to look like she killed her three kids then jumped off her balcony. I can not begin to understand what would drive anyone to hurt any child let alone their own children.

Me neither Tom. I couldnt imagine ever feeling that anger or hate towards anyone and certainly NOT my own kids. I struggle to see that I could feel it EVEN if someone harmed my kids but you never know until youre in that situation. I just hope that this is not another family that has been known to the professionals for some reason. That wont go down well at all. Anyway, no more talk of this as its getting me down. I am off out to Tescos to get some cow juice as we have run out lol. Sleep well mate and my best wishes go out to you and AJs too she says.
