Looking over St Margaret’s Loch, a shallow man-made loch on the side of the Queen’s Drive in Holyrood Park in Edinburgh, Scotland.

St Margaret’s Loch supports a significant population of geese, swans and ducks. At the back of the shot is the ruin of St Anthony’s Chapel, the only building in the Park.

Taken while out for a pleasant days shooting on a lovely Spring day (8th May 2010) with some other RB members.

The Old and New Towns of Edinburgh are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Camera: Canon EOS 450D (Digital Rebel XSi in the USA)

gorgeous Tom. I have to get up to this neck of the woods one day soon. It’s hard to believe in all the years that I have wanted to go to Scotland [on my doorstep practically] – I still haven;t been there.

  • That is terrible Julie. There is so much to see up here and we only have 5.5 million population in about 1/3 of the UK. Edinburgh and especially Glasgow are the most populated cities , so they can feel quite crowded, but move away from the cities and the further North and West you go, the fewer people you will find.

Glad you like the shot though …
