Looking down from the Back Braes (back lanes) in South Queensferry, Scotland on New Years day 2010. Over the roofs to the small town harbour, you can see a small section of the crowd at the 2010 annual Loony Dook.
The water, as always, was freezing cold (it is a tributary of the North Sea after all).
Residents and tourists descended on the town’s High Street area well in advance of the mid-day dip to ensure they had a good vantage point. And they were not disappointed.
