The City Chambers in Glasgow, Scotland is the headquarters of Glasgow City Council, located on the East side of the city’s George Square. The building was constructed between 1882 and 1888 by the architect William Young and is an eminent example of Victorian civic architecture. Inaugurated in August 1888 by Queen Victoria, the first council meeting was held within the buildings in October 1889.

The Chambers were used as part of the location for The House of Mirth an adaptation of the novel by Edith Wharton by Terence Davies starring Gillian Anderson and Dan Aykroyd.

Well you know what you are doing Tom!!! Standing just to the right of the memorial centered in front of the door (why do they do this.. don’t they know this is in the way of really perfect photography??) you did the only thing you could do… unlike Tiger Woods who could make his ball curve around that piece!!!!
Beautiful shading and coloring… really a gem Tom!!!!

  • Hehe, you are beginning to know my style dear Brenda. I had to stand there for an age, before I could get a shot without 30 Japanese tourists in the way. It would have been nice to get a shot without people, but George Square is always busy …
