A panoramic view of Florence, Italy.
On the right, the cathedral church, the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore (Duomo) – begun in 1059 and completed in 1128.
Just right of centre, the Campanile di Giotto (Giotto’s Bell Tower) – begun in 1334 and completed in 1359.
In front of the Campanile is the Badìa Fiorentina, the abbey and church of the Fraternity of Jerusalem.
On the left, the Palazzo Vecchio (Italian for Old Palace), the town hall of Florence. This massive, Gothic, crenellated fortress-palace is among the most impressive town halls of Tuscany.
This is another of Sylvia’s shots (my wife).
